Project team of Moscow-Kazan high-speed railway line (HSR) approved a schedule of project activities, says the Russian Government's communication. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich held a meeting of the project team. The meeting participants discussed the organisation of surveys, land planning and marking, and the development of design documentation for Moscow-Kazan line, a section of Moscow-Kazan-Yekaterinburg HSR. The project team also discussed modifications to the Russian law in view of construction of high-speed railway infrastructure. Following the discussion results, proposals will be refined and presented at the next project team meeting. Moscow-Vladimir-Nizhny Novgorod-Cheboksary-Kazan route has been defined as the HSR's pilot section. The section is 770 km long with a maximum speed up to 400 km/h. The line will go through seven Russian regions, and the travel time from Moscow to Kazan will be 3.5 hours. As Oleg Belozerov, President of Russian Railways, informed on Thursday at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, under the Russia-China intergovernmental agreement the company should present the project's financial model option by December. Design works will go in five phases to complete, with account for the state expert review, on November 30, 2016, as Yuri Kotlov, Director of Construction and New Technologies Department of High Speed Railways, earlier informed.
