Noise screens to be installed on HSR in Nizhny Novgorod region

Noise screens are to be installed in the residential area of the Nizhny Novgorod region along the route of the high-speed rail line Moscow-Kazan, according to the website of the design office.
Approximate locations for the installation of screens are residential buildings in Kstovo district (Semet village, Lesnoy village), Bogorodsky district (Sartakovo village, Komarovo village, Novopavlovka village), Vorotynsky district (Bykov village). The length and location of the screens will be specified during designing the rail line.
The designing office will use materials with high noise-absorbing properties to reduce noise in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
"Calculations showed that the installation of noise shields could reduce the zone of acoustic discomfort by 150 — 200 meters," the report said.
Earlier it was reported that the construction of Moscow-Kazan HSR was estimated at 1 trillion rubles, the cost of designing was 21 billion rubles. The rail line will run on the territory of seven regions of Russia. There are stops in Kazan, Cheboksary, Nizhny Novgorod and Vladimir. The journey time from Moscow to Kazan will be about 3.5 hours.
