Russia and France to discuss economic cooperation within CEFIC

A meeting of the Franco-Russian Economic, Financial, Industrial and Trade Council (CEFIC) will be held in Moscow after more than a two-year pause. The Council's XXI session will be attended by Alexey Ulyukaev, Minister for Economic Development and Trade, who is the Chairman of the Russian part of CEFIC. French delegation will be headed by Emmanuel Macron, French Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs. The meeting will also be attended by Emmanuel Quidet, President of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France Russie) and Pavel Chinsky, the Chamber's Managing Director. Following the meeting with French business groups in Paris, Alexey Ulyukaev highlighted that the sanctions interfere in the activities of French businesses in Russia, However, French companies are not going to stop their operations here and show their interest in new infrastructure projects. According to him, French businessmen have shown a keen interest in transport infrastructure, railway transport development, possible development of French companies in BAM-Transsib and Moscow-Kazan HSR projects, and in energy and gas supply sectors.
